The Smile Lounge, Company
Like all medical sciences dentistry is advancing at a rapid rate. Procedures, techniques and equipment have reached a new level of sophistication. At The Smile Lounge we use the most up-to-date materials and techniques and give you the freedom of choice that you deserve.
Dr Michael Yang graduated from the University of Sydney attaining his Bachelor in Dental Surgery in 1994. After graduation, Michael worked in various private practices throughout country NSW and in Sydney. In 1997, he and his wife moved to the town of Young in country NSW where he established his own successful private practice until relocating to Canberra in 2006.
It was during his time in Young that Dr Yang undertook further studies in various aspects of dentistry to increase his skills and knowledge in order to provide his patients with a higher level of service and quality of care.
Upon completion of an orthodontic course, Michael successfully treated many of his patients in Young with braces and removable orthodontic appliances. His ongoing commitment to further education has led him to attending numerous additional courses both nationally and internationally on dental implants, laser dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and practice management.
In 2005, Dr Yang received his Graduate Diploma of Clinical Dentistry in Sedation and Pain Management from the University of Sydney. This is the only such course run in all of Australia with only four graduates in 2005 including Dr Yang. This course focuses on how to better manage patients in acute pain and those who have an extreme phobia of dentistry.
Michael enjoys all aspects of dentistry, however he does have a special interest in the fields of cosmetic and rehabilitative dentistry as this enables him to restore people's smiles utilising the latest innovative techniques and modern technology.
